Grading
For every report card in each subject, the grade will be the sum of the average of the individual grades of classwork, homework, quizes, and tests (Campus Check Points or District Check Points). Each one of those four areas will weight 25%. Participation will be counted on classwork grades.
For example, if a student gets five 100's for classwork, three 100's for homework, two 50's for quizes, and one 100 for the Campus Check Point, it will be 25% + 25% + 12.5% + 25% = 87.5%, and the final grade will be 88%. As you can see, having two 50's in the quizes gives us 12.5% because is half 25%.
Sometimes lessons are planned to extend the students' learning with projects, labs, or other activities; when this happens, each area will weight 20%.
If you have any questions, you can send me an e-mail or call the office to set up a meeting.
